About Mai Garlic Restaurant

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Livonia, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Michigan run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours have not been published for this listing yet. Most businesses of this type in Livonia keep standard business hours, but call ahead to be sure, especially on weekends and holidays. I am giving them 4 stars is because the food is amazing and the service is always pleasant from the women with the kids (not sure if owner). However I drive very far to get here and it is very frustrating that they do not update their hours on Google. Website says you are open and then I pull up and you guys are closed. This has happened a lot in the 4 or 5 years my family has been coming here. Please be more professional and update your hours for the convince of your consumers

Reminded me of mom and pop restaurants in Thailand. Busy kitchen in the back, complete with fussing baby. Super-friendly waitress and lots of really good food. My Panang Chicken was very tasty and hot (not spicy). I really enjoyed it. I'll be back for sure. Went back a week later and tried the Pad Thai. Big portion and very tasty! Glad I passed on the spring roll this time. Waitress is still very upbeat and always friendly!

Staff are kind but might get something wrong on your order if you don't speak up. The inside is small and cozy. Biggest annoyance is the owner's children run rampant inside almost every day. The food portions aren't the largest either, which is disappointing for the price you pay. The quality is okay, not the tastiest, nor excellently spiced, but still good. There's not many Thai places in Livonia unfortunately.

If you get a carry out.. Please look at your food before you leave. Ordered Pad Almond and got 6 tiny pieces of chicken. Called to complain and would not take my word for it. Sorry that was my lunch break and cannot come back today. Talked to 3 people before owner picked up and she could care less. Told her that it was the last time I would come in and she said "OK THAT IS FINE" and hung up on me. SAD.. I really miss the old owners. They were the best.

The food is very good. Their Pad Thai dish is almost as good as what is served at Bangkok 96 in Dearborn (which is my chinning bar for great Thai food). However, the last time I called to put in an order, the staff stated that they were busy and that it would be at least an hour wait before they could pump out my single order. As a result, I've taken my business to Siam Plus on Wayne Road instead.
